Golden Jubilee Officially Finished !

Here is the finished product along with my wife's grandmother on the night it was unveiled to her.

It was an absolute honor to restore the tractor. All the way I was looking forward to the day I could reveal it to those who knew it before, when Jennifers grandfather would use it to bushhog around the old homeplace in New Cumberland WV. New radiator, hoses, belts, fan shroud, alternator, exhaust manifold, muffler, tailpipe, breather, gauges, fuel line, headlights, seat cover, decals, solenoid, wiring harness, junction block, battery, cables, switch, distrubutor, cap, coil, points, plugs, spark plug wires, valve job, some sheet metal, gaskets, toolbox, emblem and countless other small parts, etc.
This will be the last post about the tractor. Now its time to work on the F-Bomb (see the F-Bomb link above)

A golden setback

Well, a little setback for the '53 Ford Golden Jubilee. It seems the valves were stuck after sitting so long. So as pretty as it is, it will not run. The tractor is at the shop now having a valve job done. I'll keep you guys updated.

Golden Jubilee Update - ALMOST finished!

The tractor project is looking great. Everything is going together pretty well. I've still got to figure out the wiring harness, and still have to order a few more parts. Enjoy the pictures.

Jubilee Paint Done

All the red and gray is finished! The Gray paint especially turned out beautiful because it is automotive paint, not just oil based paint like you'd get at tractor supply stores. Now just need to paint the seat black, do a little touching up here and there, and put it all back together with a new wiring harness, all new electronics, gauges, tune up kit, fuel system, emblems, and much more.

One of the problems I ran into is that the radiator doesn't seem to be the original, and it won't fit the restored fan shroud I purchased online.

First Fairmont Speed Parts Obtained

Last week I ordered some new parts for the F-Bomb. They came from UPR. I got their chrome-moly K-Member kit which comes with the tubular k-member, the tubular upper a-arms, and the adjustable coilovers. Also got the billet aluminum caster camber plates (not pictured) and the ultimate bump steer kit (not pictured). The parts came in a few days ago and I'm really happy with them. They are very good quality. They're like a work of art. Great craftsmanship on these parts.

Golden Jubilee Update

Almost all the paint and rust removal is done, but we ran into a bit of a roadblock when my grinder broke. Check out some of the pics. Picture 1 is the hood, with the new side panel welded on, and picture 2 is one of the few new parts I've bought for the tractor so far, a battery tray, replacing the rusted out one. Still gotta sandblast the seat and remove some crustiness on one of the wheels (which I had to take apart).

Speed Theorems Sexy Tractor?

Here lately we have been working on a tractor. So what is a race team doing working on a tractor? Well, this is a classic 1953 Ford Golden Jubilee. It was my wife's grandfathers tractor. It runs good but thats about the only good thing you can say about its condition. It's been completely taken apart and we're slowly putting it back together with refurbished/restored parts. The plan is to have it finished by either the Christmas parade, or at the latest, the Townville Tractor Show. After the tractor is done, we start on the F-Bomb (see link above)

Due to requests here are some "before" pictures.

Well if you didn't come to the Electric City Classics 27th Annual Show n Shine you missed one heck of a good show.... On Saturday night at the Cruise-in at McDonalds combined with the cars in the show I would guess atleast 350 total cars.

We had 6 Montes total in attendance. And I debuted my finished "RICEKLR".
